A Legacy Built on Service

The Yarmouth Lions Bursary Trust Fund was established by dedicated members of the Yarmouth Lions Club who believed that education was the greatest gift one could give. Rooted in the global Lions Clubs International motto — "We Serve" — our Trust Fund channels community generosity into tangible support for local students.

Located in the historic coastal town of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, we have been providing scholarships, supporting youth programs, and strengthening community bonds for decades. Our funding comes from interest income supplemented by the tireless fundraising efforts of our parent Lions Club, ensuring a sustainable model for giving.

Part of a Global Movement

Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization, with over 1.4 million members in more than 200 countries. Founded in 1917 by Melvin Jones, Lions have dedicated themselves to serving communities worldwide.

Our Yarmouth chapter proudly carries forward this tradition. In 1925, Helen Keller challenged Lions to become "Knights of the Blind," sparking our long-standing commitment to vision health. Today, we embrace five global causes: Vision, Hunger, Environment, Childhood Cancer, and Diabetes.
